KWS is one of the world's leading plant breeding companies, with subsidiaries, associated companies and distributors in over
65 countries in the world. Our products are agricultural plants for temperate climates. We are breeding, producing and marketing the quality seed of the major agricultural crops for farming in this area. For over 150 years, KWS with its headquarters in Einbeck, Germany, has been a competent partner for both the agricultural sector and the food industry. In the fiscal year 2004/2005, the group's turnover amounted to 495 million Euro. The wide range of species and varieties we produce are inevitably based on traditional plant-breeding techniques, but we are also making increasing use of the latest innovations in biotechnology. We aim to develop new high-yield varieties suited to local conditions and with increased pest and disease resistance, to make agricultural production more efficient, sustainable and competitive.
