SHW Machine Tool has its roots in the SCHWÄBISCHE HÜTTENWERKE (Swabian metallurgical plant) in Wasseralfingen, 60 years ago. SHW is an ancient company, founded in 1365, more than 630 years ago, by christian monks in Königsbronn. The task of that company was the production of raw iron. During its history SHW manufactured many different products, in the last century even a passenger car had been designed and produced. It was presented at the Exibition in 1924 and can be visited in the Deutschen Museum in Munich.
SHW machines have always been known as accurate, productive Milling Machines for the multi-side machining of cubic parts in one setup. Gaining more and more experience and incorporating the latest technology SHW improved the know how of complete machining in one setup. This is the basic idea of SHW Werkzeugmaschinen.
