Hamburg-based SAM Electronics, an L-3 Communications company, is exhibiting an advanced multi-functional navigation system combining ARPA radar, ECDIS, conning and automatic steering control functions, Multipilot 1100. The console on display is the winner of a coveted 2005 International Red Dot design award for aesthetics, functionality and innovation in a competition judged by leading world industrial and consumer design experts.

Available as console or desktop versions and combining navigation and collision avoidance operations within a single workstation, Multipilot 1100 provides a correlated view of planned and real situations for improved effectiveness and safety of all navigational tasks. Systems typically also form an integral part of SAM Electronics' established series of NACOS integrated navigation command systems featuring radar-controlled track-keeping, versions of which have been recently ordered by OceAnco for two 80m luxury yachts with a further one installed on the new five-deck 76m superyacht, Samar, built by Devonport Yachts in Plymouth, UK.

SAM Electronics is currently also engaged as a supplier for a number of megayacht turnkey projects in Australia, Dubai, Germany, Netherlands and Singapore.
